Beginning with Mother Goose

The Youth Library is pleased to announce a new six-week program for babies and toddlers, Beginning with Mother Goose. We are partnering with Rutland Windsor Supervisory Union to provide families with information on early literacy, ideas on how to choose quality books, and activity, song and conversation ideas. Local author Willow Bascom will have her own special presentation during our last session. Space is limited; please register with Lindsay in the Youth Library or call 228-3517.

Wednesdays February 1st - March 14th (except 2/22)
10:30 - 11:30 (a light snack will be provided)
Families with children ages birth to 36 months are welcome!

Juli Baker believes in three things: the sanctity of trees, the wholesomeness of the eggs she collects from her backyard flock of chickens and that someday she will kiss Bryce Loski. She has been smitten with Bryce ever since second grade but he thinks she is weird. Then, in eighth grade, Bryce begins to see that Juli's unusual interests and pride in her family are kind of cool. And Juli starts to think that maybe Bryce's brilliant blue eyes are as empty as the rest of him seems to be. A perfect introduction to the adolescent war between the sexes. . Rated PG.

Stop in the library any time from Feb 6 - 10 and make the perfect Valentine for that special someone!

TEEN VIDEO CHALLENGE 2012

Teens ages 13-18 are invited to participate in our Teen Video Challenge to promote the 2012 Summer Reading Program. The winning individual or team will receive $275 and his/her sponsoring library will be awarded prizes worth $150. The contest is sponsored by The Vermont Department of Libraries and the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP). If you would like to participate, contact Lindsay in the Youth Library by November 15th.
